The dance floor stayed packed, and even some of the guests we never expected to see dancing were out there having a great time! Every single guest seemed to have something great to say about the band, and months later, we are still getting compliments about them.
The entire band and their coordinator were fantastic to work with. They helped with our introductions, accommodated some additional speeches, and kept everything running smoothly without ever making us feel stressed. How far in advance should we book a wedding band?
Most couples reserve their band 9 to 15 months ahead, and earlier for peak Saturdays from May through October.
How do we choose the right wedding band?
Listen to real performances, consider the musical styles you enjoy, and ask how the band handles your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. For a wedding in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut, your venue’s space, sound rules and schedule should also guide the conversation.
How large is the band?
Live Wire offers customizable ensembles, from a duo for your ceremony to a full band with horns. The right configuration depends on your venue, musical preferences and event plans. Exact instrumentation and availability are confirmed in your proposal.
Can you learn our first dance or a special song?
Yes. Learning new songs is part of planning with us. Couples regularly ask us to learn their first dance, parent dances and entrance songs, and we’ll confirm everything with you before the day.
Can you cover the ceremony and cocktail hour too?
Yes. Live Wire can provide music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Tell us which parts of your wedding you would like covered so we can recommend an approach and confirm the details.
What kind of music do you play?
Our repertoire spans swing and Motown to classic rock, R&B, pop, 2000s pop punk, hip-hop, dance, jazz and country. Tell us your favorites, first-dance ideas and any songs you’d rather skip.
